The group was formed in Honolulu in the early '90s and moved to Los Angeles in 1992. Shortly after the move, they were signed to Amphetamine Reptile records in 1993.

Playing with bands like bands like the Butthole Surfers, Cat Power, Girls Against Boys, Unwound, Cat Power, Pulp, and 10 shows with Nirvana on their final American tour helped Chokebore solidify their growing reputation.

As innovators of post rock Chokebore released 5 albums that are now considered indie masterpieces and influenced countless new bands around the globe.

Chokebore's new EP Falls Best, is their first record in 8 years.
