MCDOWELL, FRED/ FURRY LEWIS
WHEN I LAY MY BURDEN DOWN (SUTRO PARK)
This amazing artifact showcases two intimate recordings with two of the legends of the blues. Furry Lewis and Fred McDowell were recorded in their homes in the late 60s and Biograph lovingly originally released the recordings as a split record.
Both artists rise to the occasion, creating laid-back stylings of some of their most famous songs ("John Henry", "Casey Jones", "When I Lay My Burdens Down") as well as material not as readily available anywhere else.
This is the first opportunity to buy this release since it was first put out over thirty years ago.
