THE PLEASURE (ROOKIE RECORDS)
Described by one leading music publication as producing "Beatle-conundrums between Help and Revolver", the boys from THE PLEASURE shun such narrow categorizing.
"Timeless Brit-Pop" is how they describe their music. During 1995 to 1999, THE PLEASURE established a reputation as an accomplished live act.
They took on the music industry, their efforts resulting in consistently great reviews, a solid fan-base, a newcomer band award from Germany's leading commercial radio station, and an album produced by an internationally renowned name.
Incredibly though, the group was never signed to a major label. Initial disappointment gave way a determination to celebrate the benefits of independence.
That celebration has resulted in three critically acclaimed albums, produced in increasingly uncompromising fashion: "Careful with comparisons - OK, but this one's impossible to ignore: If John Lennon was active today, he'd sound just like this.
The result is a set of wonderful compositions, perfectly executed. When will the record companies wake up?" Good Times Magazin.
It's rare for THE PLEASURE to do a live-concert these days - although they can occasionally be persuaded (for example, they couldn't resist an invitation to do a joint concert with one of their all-time favorite bands "The Pearlfishers" in 2004).
But they continue to be a prolific studio band. Their album "Hash Brown Smilings" was launched in January 2004.
Logically in 2006 a new double CD album is coming up and THE PLEASURE still follow an unswerving course.
Elaborated song writing, a wonderful orchestration and a perfect production are the main columns of their sound, wrapped in a stylish digipak.
Very close to the ultimate pop song.
