Yessiree boys and girls! It's here! The long awaited second album by Mark & the Spies! The album, entitled 'Give Me A Look', is once again recorded by the legendary E.J.

"I've got my mono working" Kloosterboer and filled with great jangling guitar-pop with a delicious sixties sauce.

In times where the packaging, the number of different color pressings, the most limited circulation and the crapiest sound seems to be more important than the ability to write a great, simple and dead catchy tune, MARK & THE SPIES entered the studio again to prove all you self-appointed rock'n'roll experts wrong, with their awesome blend of pure crystalline 60's pop and classic garage-beat.

MARK & THE SPIES, those sixties beat hitmakers, hailing from a damned little village called Veenendaal in the Netherlands.

They started out as a rock'n'roll trio, only having a few v ocal songs, but mostly instrumental Link Wray kinda stuff.

After some gigs they broke up, reunited and broke up again. After that Mark (bass/vocals) and Arjan (guitar/vocals) started writing songs of their own.

They found themselves a new drummer (Gerrit), a keyboard/saxophone player (Jelle) and things got finally pushed in the right direction.

At the beginning of 2007 their first official release saw the light of day, a 7" EP on the Spanish label Butterfly Records and people all around the globe immediately started to rave about it.

"Their tunes will stick in your brain...FOREVER!!!" - Lutz, Soundflat Mailorder "Doing a pure '60's pop punk confection through a Vox Tonebender so perfect that Barry Tashian would be proud (and pissed)..." - Cavestomp "These guys are great!" - Wort 89.9 FM USA.

Because of their enthusiasm, energetic live performances and irresistible charms, the guys are becoming more and more popular.

They've already shared bills with some legendary names such as The MONSTERS and The FUZZTONES and played almost everywhere in Europe.

Their debut album contains 10 original songs and one José Feliciano cover called 'If I Really Bug You'.

It was recorded by he legendary king of vintage recording' EJ Kloosterboer at the Atomic Sound Farm Studio.

After the release of the first album (simply entitled 'Mark & the Spies') in 2007, the Dutch release of their single ut I Do' and a year and a half filled with lots of gigging and touring, their keyboard/saxophone player Jelle decided to leave the band.

By that time almost 50% of ive Me A Look' had already been recorded. For some time it was uncertain if the album would ever get finished at all.

After a few months of aking it easy', inspiration and drive came back again. If you like the hip-shaking beats of Motown, the power of The Remains, the Zomnies and the Beatles' '65 period, you'll love this album.

Parents, keep your daughters at home and close all windows, ause here are the incredible MARK & THE SPIES!! "This four-piece band plays nederbeat the way it was meant to be played: full of melody and up-tempo" - 3voor12 VPRO "Amazing 60's influenced guitar pop!!!" - Lost In Tyme Fanzine "Man! I dig the new sounds!" - Mike from hole Lotta Shakin' Radio Show (USA) "Utterly brilliant! I am so happy that the new stuff is so fab." - Pete Scoundrel from Thee Cybermen (UK)
