Suzanne Vega was one of the pioneers of the female Singer Songwriters that domineered the late eighties and early nineties.

Her unexpected self-titled hit album Suzanne Vega from 1985, with well-loved song arlene On The Wall' topped the charts and won her the admiration of critics and public alike.

Last year she started a new project; for both commercial (control) and artistic reasons she decided to re-record all her favourite songs in intimate, acoustic settings.

The new arrangements called for a new order in her catalogue and Vega grouped her songs thematically.

This third installment is a collection of her most haunting songs. Vega used to call them her 'Mental Health' songs, as she explains: "they are descriptions of a place deep inside.

Anyone can feel like the narrator in Penitent, or Cracking, depending on your mood."
