CITY LIGHT THIEF
THE MUSIC OF CHANCE (ROOKIE)
Paul Auster is one of the most influential writers of our time. His novel ,The Music of Chance" tells the story of Jim Nashe, a fireman who one decides to leave his old life behind, sell all of his belongings and drive all across the USA without any plan.
He ends up caught on a meadow with 10.000 stones he is supposed to build a wall with. The novel inspired Germany's City Light Thief, who have supported bands like Thursday and Taking Back Sunday with their debut record ,Laviin", to write four songs about Jim Nashe's tale.
,The Music of Chance" will be released on May 11th via Rookie Records / Midsummer Records.
The EP was recorded within seven days in a house in rural Germany, in the middle of nowhere.
The main recording room was the sauna of the house. Since the band lacked the money to press a 10" vinyl, they started a crowdfunding action.
Within less than 48 hours the release was financed by the bands listeners.
