Am 6. September wird die New Yorker Indie-Rock-Band um Greta Kline, FRANKIE COSMOS, ihr viertes Studioalbum "Close It Quietly" bei Sub Pop veröffentlichen.

Das neue Album fängt den gemeinschaftlichen Geist der Band ein, die neben der Frontfrau Greta Kline (Gesang, Gitarre) aus ihren langjährigen WeggefährtInnen Lauren Martin (Synthies), Luke Pyenson (Drums) und Alex Bailey (Bass) besteht.

Die Aufnahmen zu "Close It Quietly" fanden in den Figure 8 Studios in Brooklyn an der Seite von Gabe Wax statt, der die Platte koproduziert hat, und dessen Intuition und Liebe zum Detail der Band erlaubte, ihre eigenen Kontexte neu zu gestalten.

"Close It Quietly" greift fortlaufend den Trademark-Sound der Band auf und bringt diesen auf den neuesten Stand.

Motive und Sounds werden auf dem gesamten Album fortlaufend erfunden und neu interpretiert.

Dabei entsteht ein Wirbel an Referentialität, der eine deutliche Abkehr von früheren Veröffentlichungen darstellt.

Die Synergie dieser Zusammenarbeit spiegelt sich bereits in der ersten Single "Windows" wieder.

So erläutert Kline in einem Statement zum Song: "This song takes place during the waiting period of healing, not knowing how to proceed or how to find the path to forgiveness.

The inner versus the outer- learning to see yourself as part of the whole. For me the lyrics cover some of the slow movements of relationships, the shifts that occur in ways of thinking over time."
