Gowdy, who has performed live works in venues across North America and Europe, including MUTEK (Montreal & Barcelona), Pico Union Project (L.A.) and Spektrum (Berlin).

Gowdy has also accrued production and engineering credits on over sixty albums over the past decade.

"The pieces collected on this album are inspired by self-hypnosis activities using the Nova Pro 100 Light & Sound Mind Machine.

The album was produced, recorded and mixed between November 2018 and August 2019 with the aim of exploring therapy through self-induced states of hypnosis." Gowdy has previously released three solo records: B-Stock (2018), Vitrify Kate (Liberation Through Hearing, 2018) and Pachira Aquatica, released internationally with Shimmering Moods (2019).

Gowdy was Montréal gallery Eastern Bloc's Data Salon XXXIII Artist in Residence in 2019.
