With their hypnotic rhythms, songs like "Birth" and "Smirk" serve up an irresistible sense of anticipation perfectly resolved with an explosion of melody and emotion.

The instrumentation on "Signal" evokes the punk aesthetics of The Birthday Party, while Pond's brooding vocals and deft lyricism juxtapose Grace Slick and spiritual mantras.

Since forming in 2018, the band has released four full-length albums: Peace Will Grind You Down (2018), Branches (2020), Ballast (2021), and now Parables (2022).

The group consists of the core of Maura Pond, Benjamin Schurr, and Levi Flack. Recording and mixing entirely in their homes, the trio has total freedom in the studio, often trading instruments and experimenting with unconventional instruments such as pitch-shifted harmonica, marxophone, prepared piano, kazoo, and unloved vintage drum machines.
