Wie sehr eine Reise ins Innere einer Tropfsteinhöhle die Fantasie beflügeln kann, zeigt "Movement" - das neue Album von Terese Lien Evenstad.

Zusammen mit ihrem Ehemann Alexander Ivarsson verbrachte die schwedische Violinistin ihren Sommerurlaub in Italien.

Der führte die Beiden unter anderem nach Sardinien in das rund fünf Kilometer lange, von Wasser geformte Höhlensystem "Grotta del Bue Marino".

"Das war nicht nur eine enorm beeindruckende, sondern auch augenöffnende Erfahrung, die für mich als Metapher für die Corona-Jahre dient.

So wie Wasser seinen Weg durch massives Gestein findet und Neues entstehen lässt, können sich Menschen aus schwierigen Situationen herausmanövrieren", erklärt Evenstad.

MOVEMENT was inspired by Evenstad's summer trip to Italy with her husband, Alexander Ivarsson.

Many of the ideas for the album and some of the songs were kindled during a five-kilometre journey through a mountain cave formed by water.

"It was eye-opening and stunning," she recalls. "A metaphor for the past couple of years during the pandemic - how people can get through difficult situations, like water finding its way through stone and creating something new.

My last few years have been a movement with both challenges and lovely experiences that have developed me both as a musician and on a personal level.

Now that I'm out on the other side, I carry both past and present perspectives. The album contains old and new songs and reflects the last few years in my life."
