WILLIAMS, HANNAH & THE AFFIRMATIONS
LATE NIGHTS & HEARTBREAK (RECORD KICKS)
Hannah Williams' second album, "Late Nights & Heartbreak", produced by Malcolm Catto, gained widespread attention when Jay-Z used the title track for his song "4:44," addressing his infidelity in response to Beyoncé's "Lemonade." The album was recorded with her new band, The Affirmations, at Quatermass Studio in London, home to the British cult band The Heliocentrics.
Catto, known for collaborations with artists like Mulatu and Madlib, helped create a tighter, punchier sound, highlighted by tracks like "Still in My Head" and "Woman Got Soul."The album blends visceral soul with psychedelic elements across 13 original tracks, except for a psychedelic soul cover of "Dazed and Confused." Songs like "Another Sunrise" and "Your Luck Can Change" showcase deep, layered grooves, allowing Hannah to express raw emotions of love, lust, and anger.Hannah exploded onto the soul scene with her 2012 debut, "A Hill Of Feathers", and her first single, "Work it Out," became an international hit with over 1.5 million YouTube views.
Her musical journey began at age 6 in a church choir, and she quickly developed into an unstoppable force with a unique, once-in-a-lifetime talent.
