Norwegian Hardcore in its purest form. Original cover art by Esra Roise. Vinyl only release. Check out the single Perfect Like a Nazi : https://soundcloud.com/tigerfysisiskformat/haraball-perfect-like-a-nazi Norwegian hardcore act Haraball hit back with the full length album Half Tux.

The album is a carefully balanced combination of discipline and savagery with one goal; making human bodies bounce off the walls and stack themselves in a massive pile-on.

Half Tux follows up the debut Sleep Tall, and though the formula is still ultrapoignant hardcore, a lot has happened between the releases.

The most noticable change is that singer Jon started to combine his trademark manic aggression with Nordic gloom.

Also, Haraball have unleashed what was previously their best kept secret; guitarist Trond Mjoen has become the main factor in many parts of the album, from songwriting to the mixing and production.

Mjoen's varied background - from psyching up Haust and doing session work with Ulver - has added new dimensions to Haraball's sound.

By taking inspiration from everything from japanese punk to noise rock, Mjoen and Haraball have created a deadly precise form of hardcore, full of cacaphonic anger.

In the midst of this chaos, you find Norway's most stoic drummer Daniel Wakim. Wakim grew up among bomb-raids in Beirut before his family moved to Haraball's tiny hometown, Kongsberg, where, ironically, the bombs are produced.

The hardcore scene in Kongsberg that bred Haraball is more including than most, with fewer fractions and less focus on political correctness.

This can explain Haraball's demotic, broad appeal. Thematically, Haraball are not your average hardcore band, with lyrics closer to Nirvana than Agnostic Front.

Jon's down-to-earth observations of adult ennui tread the line between bitter seriousness and black humour.

The artwork (signed Oslo-artist Esra Roise) and title follow the same logic - Half Tux is the traditional dress of the main character in a funeral.

Not only does it look good, it's incredibly practical.
