NICK DRAKE: „The Endless Coloured Ways: The Songs Of Nick Drake“ erscheint als DoLP, DoCD und digital am 7. Juli via Chrysalis Records!

„The Endless Coloured Ways - The Songs Of Nick Drake“, eine Sammlung von dreiundzwanzig der beliebtesten Songs von NICK DRAKE, liebevoll dargeboten und neu interpretiert von zweiunddreißig der talentiertesten Künstler des gesamten musikalischen Spektrums, wird am 7. Juli über Chrysalis Records veröffentlicht. Wer am 1. März um 17.15 Uhr die Steve Lamacq Show auf BBC6 Music einschaltet, bekommt mit der Premiere von FONTAINES D.C.s ektoplasmischer Detonation von „'Cello Song“ einen Vorgeschmack auf die noch kommenden wunderbaren Adaptionen.

„The Endless Coloured Ways“ wurde von Cally Callomon, der Managerin des NICK DRAKE Estate, und Jeremy Lascelles, dem Mitbegründer von Blue Raincoat Music und CEO von Chrysalis Records, ins Leben gerufen und enthält unter anderem Aufnahmen von FONTAINES D.C., LET'S EAT GRANDMA, JOHN GRANT, SELF ESTEEM, EMELI SANDÉ, GUY GARVEY, DAVID GRAY und vielen anderen. Im Vorfeld der Veröffentlichung des Albums wird Chrysalis eine Reihe von 7inch-Singles in limitierter Auflage herausbringen, auf denen eine Auswahl der versammelten Künstler zu hören sein wird. Die Serie wird durch eine Bonus-Disc vervollständigt, die eine wunderbare, nie zuvor veröffentlichte Aufnahme von NICK DRAKE enthält, der den BOB DYLAN-Song „Tomorrow Is A long Time“ singt.

Über die Inspiration, die hinter der Entstehung des Albums steht, sagt Jeremy Lascelles: „Cally and I embarked on this venture with one simple brief to each of the artists – that they ignore the original recording of NICK’s, and reinvent the song in their own unique style. It was really humbling to hear so many similar responses, with everyone saying how important NICK’s music was to them, and how much they wanted to be part of this project. As the results came in one by one, we were thrilled by the brilliance and invention that each artist had shown. They had done exactly what we hoped for - they had made the song their own.”
