Reissue of the classic second NICHTS album from 1982! After the success of the debut, the single "Radio" and the German tour, NICHTS went straight back into the studio and recorded the second album.

Besides the title track and NICHTS' biggest single hit "Tango 2000", the also released "Licht Aus", "Schwarze Gedanken", "Nachts" and "Weisse Wände" as well as a cover of tango standard "Hernando's Hideaway" ("Gitarrero Adé") stand out.

Remastered 2020/21 by former studio session engineer/sound engineer Dieter Joswig. The lavishly and faithfully restored artwork is accompanied by a booklet with rare and unpublished photos and pictures from 1982.

NICHTS performed "Licht Aus" on ZDF (Music-Box) in 1982, their album "Tango 2000" climbs to No.

22 in the German charts and has a Top 20 hit with the single of the same name, which lyrically points to changes in social values: "Schaut mich an, ich bin die Schönste / Schaut mich an, ich tanz' am besten" ("Look at me, I'm the most beautiful / Look at me, I dance' best"), such a saucy egocentric appeal as a refrain to a dark, parodic tango beat, hardly any pop band had dared to do that before.

"Ein Deutsches Lied" (A German Song) addressed possible German-language forms of expression and culture.

The lyrics has been discussed ever since, triggered a debate at the time, which was even carried out in Bravo (issue 13/82).

Reminiscent of The Cure's A Forest in mood and sound, Tango 2000 has since become a classic of today's dark wave and gothic scene, similar to Eisbär by Grauzone.

The post-punk sound of the first two NICHTS albums still reverberates today with Die Nerven, Human Abfall, Die Arbeit or Messer.
