JACKE SCHWARZ
PO PUCU UNTERWEGS (TOMATENPLATTEN)
Jacke Schwarz is back. Fifteen songs that will take you on a journey, conjuring up colourful images in your mind with the classic rock group (guitar, bass, drums) accompanied by slide guitar, violin, nyckelharpa, choir, piano and organ sounds.
A mixture of earthy blues, country and folk rock with concise lyrics in German and Sorbian. The music opens up spaces with calm, deep, gospel-like passages and moves on to punk rock.
Lyrically, the album is about the path you take over time, the worries that come with it, the struggle between good and evil, love, friendship, but above all hope.
The sound of J.J. Cale, Neil Young and Ry Cooder blends with modern post-punk to create something entirely unique.A thoroughly successful album with many rough edges and smooth curves.Jacke himself calls his music Lusitzana, which is an allusion to the term Americana.
Here, however, it's about life in the slowly drying swamps and forests of Lusatia, around the Spree(south of Berlin) - where the wolves howl and the sheep graze.
But hope dies last and rock will prevail!(Henne)
