The year ends with a big BANG!!! We're more than proud to announce the first european release by the incredible PERSIAN RUGS from Australia! What is it you might ask, that makes the whole Screaming Apple staff go bananas about this record? The answer is easy.

It takes us back to the glory days of rock'n'roll in the early eighties when one of the most important australian bands of all time was formed, the HOODOO GURUS.

And these guys (Dave Faulkner, Brad Shepherd and Mark Kingsmill, this time assisted by ex CRUSADERS and THRUSTON HOWLERS bassplayer Kendall James to be precise) are sailing the seven seas of r'n'r during the past few years under 'false colors' by the name of the PERSIAN RUGS to unashamedly live out their predilection for the puristic teen-beat of the swingin' sixties.

Both songs on this 7" single are documents of this mania and belong without any doubt to the very best the international garagepunk guild was able to offer in 2008.

Get invited to a real fuzz-o-rama where swirlin' farfisa sounds dominating the scene. This record is a true must-have for all fans of the GURUS and of course for all friends of the prehistoric caveman-stomp of bands like the early FUZZTONES, GRUESOMES, CHOCOLATE WATCHBAND and MUSIC MACHINE.

Be a guru and listen to the stoneage romeos!
