I TRENI ALL'ALBA
2011 A.D. (INRI)
BIOGRAPHY TRENI ALL'ALBA is a project created in 2003 by a meeting of 2 musicians from Turin/Italy and other 2 musicians from Aosta/Italy, developed through the writing and production of unreleased songs mostly using acoustic instruments (2 guitars, piano /keyboard and drums) and playing instrumental music.
The most important sound development has been using two electric guitars. From this almost "hybrid step" in the year 2007 the musical edge of the band see the light, a band who would like to deal with folk / acoustic music (influenced by the "mediterranean" and popular music from 70's prog music to the post core of the 2000's).
These influences must to be forged together in a cynematic way, made of musical images and references to the most various film soundtracks repertoire.
TRENI ALL'ALBA played live and still play in clubs, theaters, and on all "alternative" situations and locations which could be created only for that live show: it is also through their powerfull live performances that the band can communicate and set out their very particular way of musical expression.
During 2007 and 2008 the band dedicated itselves to write several unreleased songs, most of them has been recorded for their very first album called "Folk Destroyers" (Smartz Records, I Dischi dell'Amico Immaginario, Audioglobe, 2008), playing numerous live shows throughout Italy and collecting good responses from critics and the public for their originality as well as for their marketable potential of a musical proposal, however, which belongs to the alternative/independent italian scene.
"Folk Destroyers" has been presented live on April 2008 at the Live Club "Spazio 211" in Turin, and later played all over Italy for a total of about hundred concerts ('til March 2011).
The band winnin' at MEI in Faenza as "Best Instrumental Italian Group 2008"; participation in the video "La Nuova Musica Italiana" of the band LINEA 77; in 2009 the band is the winner at ITALIA WAVE/STATI GENERALI .DEL ROCK for the Piedmont followed by the subsequent live performance at the 2009 edition of Turin's TRAFFIC FREE FESTIVAL (with Ladytron and Primal Scream); be the opening act of the live show by Bob Mould (Husker Du) which took place at the Tunnel club in Milan; live show at MI.TO Settembre Musica 2010 - Section " Fringe "; at the metro station at Piazza del Duomo in Milan.
The recording sessions has been made in Aosta at the "Milhouse recording studio" by the soundengineer, as well as the band's guitarist, Paolo Carlotto, while the drums were recorded with Tino Paratore, at his studio "Il Cerchio Perfetto" in Turin.
The cd has been mixed and mastered by Mauro Tavella (live sound engineer for Linea 77 and Africa Unite, fan of the sound of prog rock of the the 70's as well as the Wave sound of the 80's and member of cult band Monuments), in collaboration with Madaski (Africa Unite, musician and producer who works on big productions of artists such as Franco Battiato, Antonella Ruggiero, Jovanotti) at the "Dub The Demon studios" in Luserna S.G (Turin).
The artwork of "2011 A.D." has been again designed by their friend and painter Domenico Sorrenti , who created striking and colorful images which show absolutely perfect and harmonious the concept of the new album.
The sound research on this new 9 tracks shows another step forward to a new and sophisticated musical territory and the sound has been created as much close as possible to the energy impact the band has during their live performances.
On the previous album you could easily recognized a sound influenced by the italian mediterranean folk but this time these influences are better merged on the band's sound donating a new musical edge.
In "2011 A.D." influences ranging from 70's prog music to the post core of the 2000's The release party has been played on May 27th, 2011 at Spazio211 in Turin, then followed by a live show in Aosta at the beginning of June 2011 and then a long list of summer live shows all over north Italy including in July this year a live performance in Turin at the afterparty show of MTV DAYS 2011.
One of the highest moment of those summer live shows was the show they played at Spaziale Festival 2011 attended by the venue Spazio 211 in Turin supporting Angus & Julia Stone.
The continuous and positive feedback from the fans, the record sales, feedback on social networks, interviews and reviews of the new album have been exciting at this early stage, thus further stimulating the band about the possibility of future projects and the potential of its artistic production.
And the Apocalypse goes on...
